The Pathfinder Agreement

Creating a positive and enjoyable Pathfinder Community

All Pathfinder volunteer leaders and helpers spend many hours each week preparing fun activities and experiences for all Pathfinders throughout the year. Pathfinder Leaders all undergo AdSafe training, have cleared Working With Children Checks and sign a Code of Conduct. We care about ensuring a safe environment for all Pathfinders and their families.

THE PATHFINDER AGREEMENT

Please take a moment to discuss the agreement below with your Pathfinder/s. 

Showing respect for my leaders I will:

• Follow the principles of the Pathfinder Pledge and Law.

• Listen to and follow their instructions.

• Participate in activities where I am able.

• Make sure that the Leaders always know where I am.

• Not say things that are rude, abusive or offensive.

• Wear appropriate clothes as required for each activity.

• Not bring electronic devices like phones, electronic games, etc which will be distraction for myself or others, unless by approval of my Leader.

• Not bring or use things that damage or hurt my body like drugs, alcohol, tobacco, vapes or any other harmful or illegal substances.

• Not access, share or create any pictures, audio files, film or video recordings which degrade, humiliate or victimise others.

• Make sure that when assigned an area for sleeping, changing clothes, showering or toileting that I will only use these areas for these activities and will not visit areas assigned to other Pathfinders.

Showing care for other Pathfinders I will:

• Actively look for ways to include all Pathfinders, and make sure no one is excluded or left out.

• Make sure that anything I share on social media is respectful of them.

• Respect their personal privacy at all times, especially because I want my privacy respected too.

• Talk to a leader who I know I can trust if I do not feel safe or if I know or observe another Pathfinder does not feel safe.

• Talk to a leader if I know of, or see someone else being hurt or at risk of being hurt.

• Talk to a leader if I see anyone (adult or child) behaving in a way that goes against The Pathfinder Agreement.

• Not be a bully, not harass others and not make up lies to get away with things I know are not kind, helpful or safe.

• Practice healthy social behaviour and interaction at all times.

• Ensure that I do not disrespect mine or anyone else’s physical and personal space.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF PATHFINDER AGREEMENT

During registration at the start of the year, you will be prompted to re-read and recommit to this agreement.

Together we have read the Pathfinder Agreement and we understand that this outlines the expected behaviours for all Pathfinders. We understand that this agreement will assist the Leaders of the Club in running a safe and enjoyable program for all involved. We understand that if this agreement is broken it may affect our ongoing participation in an activity, program or future Pathfinder event. Repeated disregard for this agreement may result in the cancellation of Club membership.
